Solar-driven Ca-Looping Process for Thermochemical Energy Storage

Paula Teixeira
Researcher, CQE, IST/ULisboa

Paula Teixeira graduated in Environmental Sciences from Évora University in 2001 and obtained her MSc degree in Applied Analytical Chemistry from FC-UL in 2004. In 2012, she completed her PhD in Energy and Bioenergy from FCT-UNL.

From 2001 to 2015, she developed activities at LNEG in the areas of biofuels characterization and thermochemical conversion (TCC). She acquired know-how in biomass and ash/biochar’ properties and impact on TCC. In 2007, she integrated the JRC-IRMM European program for life-long learning for Metrology in Chemistry (TrainMiC®).

Since 2016, she is a researcher at CATHPRO/CQE-IST, being her research focussed on CO2 capture and valorisation. She participated in national projects, such as “CaReCI: Carbon Emissions Reduction in the Cement Industry” and “SoCalTES: Solar-driven Ca-Looping Process for Thermochemical Energy Storage”. She also collaborated with c5Lab – Sustainable Construction Materials Association in the area of CCS. In 2022, she had access to MSSF solar infrastructures (international research stay at CNRS-PROMES, France), in the scope of SFERA III. Since 2022, she is an Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering of IST.

SoCaLTES Project is funded by FCT (PTDC/EAM-PEC/32342/2017) and by CQE (UIDB/00100/2020)
