Calcination fo CaCO3-based Materials in a Solar Furnace for Thermochemical Energy Storage
🕒 12 months
Objectives | Task 3 aims to test and study the calcination reaction of CaCO3-based materials for TCES (e.g. wastes of marble, dolomite, limestones) at 800°C and 900ºC in a solar reactor furnace using a CSP infrastructure in an external institution. The possibility of performing an experimental access campaign project in a solar furnace at CSP solar infrastructures within the scope of H2020 Grant Agreement SFERA-III-“Solar Facilities for the European Research Area”, should also be proposed within this Task.
Results | Obtain calcined CaO-based materials using a solar furnace that should have textural, mineralogical and morphological properties similar to the materials calcined in a conventional reactor.
SoCaLTES Project is funded by FCT (PTDC/EAM-PEC/32342/2017) and by CQE (UIDB/00100/2020)
